
Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a standard 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with baking paper.
Mix wet ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
Add dry ingredients:
Add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Stir gently until just combined — don’t overmix. Fold in the nuts or chocolate chips if using.
Bake the banana bread:
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Cool and serve:
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
