In 2010, CEO Brett Latimer and Managing Director Paul Beltramo made the decision to sell Cambridge Food (Pty) Ltd, a retail business they had built from the ground up and where they proudly employed over 1,000 people, to a listed company. That milestone marked a new beginning.
Armed with experience, deep community roots, and a shared vision, Brett and Paul poured their energy into a new venture, Oxford Freshmarket opened its doors in 2012. Having completed their “foundation degree” at Cambridge, they decided to do their “honours” at Oxford.
From the start, Oxford Freshmarket was built around a simple idea: to deliver the best products at the best prices. We know that maintaining our focus on value is vital, which is why our team hand-select fresh produce each morning at the local market, it’s why we invented the Oxford Tuesday Sale and why we encourage loyalty with our Oxford rewards programme.
