
Prepare the pancake batter:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
Cook the pancakes:
Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter. Pour ¼ cup of batter onto the pan for each pancake. Cook for 2–3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set. Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining batter.
Warm the Nutella:
Place Nutella in a small bowl and microwave for 15–20 seconds, or until it reaches a pourable consistency.
Assemble the pancakes:
Stack the warm pancakes on a plate. Drizzle with warm Nutella and top with banana slices.
Garnish and serve:
Top with whipped cream, chopped nuts, or a light dusting of icing sugar if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
