  • 4 large apples (like Granny Smith, Pink Lady, or Fuji)
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • ¼ cup raisins or sultanas
  • 2 tbsp honey (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • ¼ cup apple juice or water (for baking dish)
  • Greek yogurt or vanilla ice cream (for serving)
  • Extra crushed nuts for garnish

Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a baking dish just big enough to hold the apples upright.

Prepare the apples:
Wash and core the apples, creating a hollow in the center without cutting all the way through the bottom. You can use a small knife or apple corer. Place the apples upright in the baking dish.

Make the filling:
In a small bowl, mix together the walnuts, raisins, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter.

Stuff the apples:
Spoon the filling evenly into the hollowed-out apples, packing it down gently. Drizzle a little extra honey over the tops if desired.

Add liquid and bake:
Pour apple juice or water into the bottom of the baking dish to help steam and soften the apples as they bake.

Bake the apples:
Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the apples are soft and tender but still holding their shape. Baste once or twice with the juices from the bottom of the dish.

Serve warm:
Serve the baked apples warm with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of extra honey.
